Privacy Policy — APEX Marine

This Privacy Policy explains what data APEX Marine ("we", "our", "the Service") processes when you use the diagnostic tool at apex-app.streamlit.app, and how it's handled.

1. Information We Process

Pressure trace data: the crank angle and cylinder pressure values you upload as a CSV or Excel file, used to run the diagnostic engines.

Indicator diagram images: photographs or scans you upload for automatic curve digitisation. Images are processed to extract the pressure curve and are not retained beyond that processing step within your session.

Operational profile values: power, engine load, and nozzle configuration figures you enter, used to select the correct baseline and interpret results.

Session and usage data: diagnostic results, timestamps, and queue status generated during your session, held to populate the sync queue and session statistics you see in the app.

2. How We Use This Information

To run the CNN-LSTM and SVM diagnostic engines and return a leakage/injector-wear result
To digitise a submitted photograph into a usable pressure trace
To populate the local diagnostic queue and session statistics shown in the app
To carry out a sync you explicitly request

3. Where Processing Happens

Diagnostic inference (both the CNN-LSTM and SVM engines) runs within the Service itself. Pressure trace data and uploaded images are not sent to a third-party AI provider for analysis.

The Service is hosted on Streamlit Community Cloud. Streamlit, as the hosting provider, may process standard infrastructure-level data (such as request logs) as part of running the application. See Streamlit's own privacy documentation for details on their infrastructure handling.

4. Data Storage and Retention

The Service does not currently require account creation, and does not maintain a persistent server-side database of your uploads by default. If a fleet or enterprise deployment adds account-based cloud sync, that configuration will be described separately to affected users.

5. Data Security

Data in transit to the Service is encrypted (HTTPS)
No pressure trace data or images are shared with third-party AI services
Session data is isolated to your own browser session

6. Your Rights

Since the Service does not retain your uploads beyond your session by default, there is generally no stored personal data to access, correct, or delete after your session ends. If you have questions about a specific submission or a fleet/enterprise deployment, contact us using the details below.

7. Children's Privacy

APEX Marine is intended for use by marine engineering professionals and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

8. International Use

The Service may be accessed from, and its hosting infrastructure may be located in, various countries. By using the Service you understand that data you submit may be processed outside your own country.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
